approved the UFCoodrich company's re-
quest
for
construction
of
a

foot building
tit its
Mooro-Walker Road
facility.
Th<i building will
bo
used
to
store
chemicals which will
be
kept
in six ver-
tical storage tanks. The site
for the new
building
is
located
in an
industrial
zon-
ing area.

the

fire departments
worked closely with Coodrich planners
to design

a
request
by
Kopf
Construction to rezano a parcel of Town
Center land from residential
to
B-2
business. Planning Commission finally
approved
the
request. However, theru
will bo a running covenant with the land
restricting some
of
the uses available
in
B-2 zoning.
Members
of the
commission
had en-
couraged developer Buclcy Kopf to
pur-
sue
B-l or
limited
uso
rezoning
for the
parcel
of
land instead
of
B-2,
but
Kopf
argued that economic times have chang-
ed. The city's outdated zoning classes do
not accommodate
his
ability
to be
flexi-
ble whoa pursuing choice businesses
which would want
to
locate
in
Town
Cantor.
The commission
had
been apprehen-
sive about approving th« change
to B-2
zoning because
B-2
allows three-story
buildings
and
service stations, among
other establishments.
However, Kopf proposed
an
agree-
ment .with'the city
to
restrict whatever
U
M&ses
[allowable in
B-2
zoning] they
fy.oid undesirable from locating
on
this
parcel
of
land. The commission agreed.

would transcend tlii: nu'« ownership.
However,
one
of
the
commission
members asked
if
the agreement would
withstand
u
judicial challenge
by a new
property owner. Smith replied that
he
could never guarantee that anything
is
exempt from being challenged
in
court.
Mayor Vince Urbin noted that
if
the
land
is
ever purchased by someone else,
that porson has the right to come before
the commission
and
request rezoning.
Thy conditions
of
KopPs ruzoniny
agreement include buildings
no
higher
than 25 feet,
and
prohibit the following
typo
of
establishments: billiards halls,
moviv theaters, lodges, bowling alleys,
coin-operated laundries, service
sta-
tions,
hotels, dance halls and electric
or
gas substations.
The agreement between
the
city
and
Kopf may change pending
the
outcome
of
the
city's master land
U3e
plan
presently undergoing revision. The
new
ptan
for
long-term city-wide land uses
may engineer changes
in
zoning
classifications. The plan should be com-
pleted
by
February.

Cablevislon outlets. It's not a matter of having so many different
opinions on what to watch
-
that happens

but-mainly It's a
nutter of convenience: my kids like to watch
TV
upstairs and I
dont wart to miss the news when I'm in the, kitchen. Extra
cable outlets
fit
our life-style. They make it easy for our family
to enjoy anything on cable anytime we want And when I
realized how cheap extra outlets are. I started enjoying mine
even
more.
Each one is less than a penny a
day.
If you haven't
